 Beef

Our pasture raised beef is lower in polyunsaturated omega-6 fatty acids and saturated fats than feedlot beef. With an average of 9.5% fat, our beef is lean, and is a very valuable food for any carnivore. It is a rich source of iron and therefore a good food for building blood. Beef is a popular rotational food for those animals that do not have an intolerance to it.

Beef patties contain the whole animal except the heads, hides, bladder and large intestine (manure), hooves, horns (if any). We do not use non-edible bones as these would not be consumed in nature due to their density. Organs make up approximately 8 to 10 % of the patties - this includes lungs, liver, heart, kidneys and the tongue. The omasum from beef is saved for our green tripe patties. On average over all our proteins, patties are composed of 66% muscle meat, 7% bone, 10% organs, 7% blood and 10% fat. We DO NOT add anything to our foods. You may supplement as needed. Please visit our healthcare and supplement pages.

Bison

Bison is an excellent source of iron. The meat has yellow fat which means it is high in beta carotene. Bison do not marble (put fat in the muscle). The result is more protein and less fat in the patty (average 6%). The taste is often indistinguishable from beef, although bison tends to have a fuller, richer, sweeter flavor. It is not “gamey” or wild tasting. Bison is a good red meat alternative for pets allergic to beef.

Bison patties contain the whole animal except the heads, hides, bladder and large intestine (manure), hooves, horns (if any). We do not use non-edible bones as these would not be consumed in nature due to their density. Organs make up approximately 8 to 10 % of the patties - this includes lungs, liver, heart, kidneys and the tongue.  On average over all our proteins, patties are composed of 66% muscle meat, 7% bone, 10% organs, 7% blood and 10% fat. Other than the vegetables and fruit in our dinners we DO NOT add anything to our foods. You may supplement as needed. Please visit healthcare and supplement pages.

Chicken

Chicken is a very popular food for pets. At an average of 24% fat, it is higher in fat than our other whole animal diets because the skin is included. This fat layer under the skin and in the body cavity contains a good source of omega 6 fatty acids. While fantastic for young kittens and puppies, chicken diets can be unsuitable for pets that are not active or for those with inflammatory diseases or problem skin disorders. Do not feed adult pets exclusively chicken. Chicken should only constitute 10-15 % of the total diet at the most.

Whole chicken patties contain the entire bird except the head, feet, feathers, stomach, crops, and intestines. All the bones are grindable so bone content in poultry is higher than patties made from larger animals. Organs make up approximately 8% of the patty - this includes lungs, liver, heart and kidneys. On average over all our proteins, patties are composed of 66% muscle meat, 7% bone, 10% organs, 7% blood and 10% fat. We DO NOT add anything to our foods. You may supplement as needed. Please visit our healthcare and supplement products.

Goat

Goat is the most widely consumed red meat in the world. The average fat is about 14.5% saturated fat, and goat has lower cholesterol than traditional meats. Less saturated fat and less cholesterol mean healthier red meat for the health-conscious pet owner. Additionally, goat meat has higher levels of iron when compared to a similar serving size of beef, pork, or chicken. Comparatively, goat meat also contains higher potassium content with lower sodium levels.

Goat patties contain the whole animal except the heads, hides, bladder and large intestine (manure), hooves, horns (if any). We do not use non-edible bones as these would not be consumed in nature due to their density. Kangaroo

Please note that this is the only Pixie patty that is NOT a Whole Animal Diet. It does not contain bones or organs. It is designed as an alternative protein for occasional supplemental feeding to provide variety in your pet’s diet.

Kangaroo meat is a truly organic nutrient-rich full flavored red meat that is high in omega-3 and has a dream fat/protein ratio – the fat percentage averages 2.62%. Kangaroo contains the highest levels of CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) of any red meat. Kangaroo is an excellent choice for cats and dogs that have weight problems, allergies, digestive or skin issues.

Pork

Pork is a red meat high in protein and rich in many vitamins and minerals. Our lean pork is an excellent addition to a healthy diet for your pet. Our pork diet contains an average of 12.5% fat because of our level of trimming and various other factors. The fatty acid composition of pork is slightly different from the meat of ruminant animals, such as beef and lamb. It is low in conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and is slightly richer in unsaturated fats.

Pork patties contain the whole animal except the heads, hides, bladder and large intestine (manure) and feet. We do not use non-edible bones as these would not be consumed in nature due to their density. Organs make up approximately 8 to 10 % of the patties - this includes lungs, liver, heart and kidneys.

On average over all our proteins, patties are composed of 66% muscle meat, 7% bone, 10% organs, 7% blood and 10% fat. We DO NOT add anything to our foods. You may supplement as needed. Please visit our healthcare and supplement pages.

Turkey

Turkey is high in protein and lower in fat comparing to our other diets at average of 9%. It provides a rich source of iron, zinc, phosphorus, potassium and B vitamins. In terms of minerals, turkey is richest in selenium. Copper, and magnesium are also found in noteworthy amounts. The taurine in dark meat from turkey is very beneficial for cats.

Contains finely ground whole turkey carcass. Whole turkey patties contain the entire bird except the head, feet, feathers and intestines. All the bones are grindable so bone content in turkey is higher than patties made from larger animals (only a small percentage of bones in larger animals like goat, lamb, bison and beef are grindable). Please visit our healthcare and supplement product pages.
